This recipe features a special ingredient that a lot of people have not heard of. Blue Spirulina!
Blue Spirulina is actually derived from the spirulina that you are probably used to seeing. Phycocyanin is what that gives spirulina its blueish hue, so once it's extracted from the spirulina it's fun blue color is what you see! This antioxidant is such a powerhouse and actually what gives spirulina it's inflammatory fighting response.
Blue Spirulina is also full of protein and vitamins! Lots of nutrition here guys!
The flavor is mild and you can't even taste it no matter where you put it ( smoothies, oatmeal, nice cream, etc )

Banana Ice Cream!
3 Frozen Bananas
1/3 of a Vanilla Bean or 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract
A Splash Of Coconut Water or Cashew Milk
1/2 tsp Blue Spirulina
- Let bananas thaw a bit.
- Transfer the bananas to very strong blender and blend until smooth and creamy. This may take a few minutes and require periodic pauses and adjustments. If you need to add more liquid or let the bananas thaw a bit more.
Add white chia seeds and blueberries on top!
